Ralf,

I am running 2 monitors (w/ ultramon), so tried everything again with a single monitor.

I tried the /Newini parameter and that did not work either.
Freecommander shows up in task manager, but does not open.
A freecommanderxe sub-directory is created in "....\local settings\application ...

blank or old freecommander.ini in D:\Tools\FreeCommanderXEprealfa did not work.

I had this problem a while back, but it has occurred again.

I first deleted anything I could find from previous installs
extracted release 553 files from Zip file to directory D:\Tools\FreeCommanderXEprealfa
Created a new settings directory in FreeCommanderXEprealfa directory
Created a blank ...

Is there a problem that the .ini I installed with R540 is the 'old' freecommander.ini?

Interesting. I just wiped everything from my HD and did a fresh install to see what I'd get.

The default .ini file does not have a [FcFormMain_State] nor are there any parameters for top, left, etc

it has [Form] and [MainPanel] sections and runs 144 lines. (tried adding 'top, left, etc' to [form ...

Running on XP SP3...

I can launch the freecommander.exe (and see it in task manager), but the main app window is never displayed.

I have been able to run beta builds in the past (last one was 531 I think).

Any conflicts I should check for? Other thoughts?
