Re: Are bots taking over the internet?
Most users ever online was 74234 on 04.06.2026, 20:22
Yes, I noticed that too. They are multiplying like bunnies! :P
I wonder if they are largely bots gathering data to train LLMs.
I read an article a couple years ago that said something like 80-90% of all internet traffic is bots.

Why is that? Using up all the bandwidth?Marek wrote: 05.06.2026, 21:40Yes, if things go on like this, real people won't get access. Are bots taking over the internet?
I suppose a solution could be to require a login. Not ideal, but better than some of the alternatives.

Are bots taking over the internet?
I noticed that the main FreeCommander English forums page currently indicates:
In total there are 6557 users online :: 3 registered, 0 hidden and 6554 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)
Most users ever online was 66426
Are nearly all of those non-registered users bots?

Re: b949 Tree double-spaced
The TreeItemHeight Option exists under Settings->View->Tree: Color/Font/Icons: Item height.
Currently it is not possible to set the value to 12 - changed for the next release.
A value modified directly in freecommander.ini may be overwritten if the dialog for saving settings is used.

Hashes are in reverse order of downloads
It's not a big deal, but in the donor download page, the hashes are listed in the reverse order of the downloads (e.g. portable vs. installer). This can cause the user to mistakenly copy the incorrect hash to check the download's integrity.

949 - Inactive pane colour no longer applied on FC launch
In v949, the inactive pane colour is no longer applied when FC launches. This is especially noticeable in the tree pane.
It does work, however, if you select one pane, and then select the other. It's only broken when FC starts.

Re: b949 Tree double-spaced
I, too, noticed that the tree line spacing is much greater in v949, and this regression causes significantly fewer folders to fit in the tree pane. Hopefully this can be fixed.

949 - New "File extensions for individual opening per file" option
v949 has a new setting "File/folder operations" -> "Open multiple files" -> "File extensions for individual opening per file".
By the name of it, I'm guessing it's supposed to open a separate instance of the associated application for the specified file extensions. Is that guess correct, or does it ...

948 - Changing tab text color in pane doesn't work if pane is inactive
FreeCommander XE 2026 Build 948 64-bit
Changing individual tab text colors in active pane work well.
Changing individual tab text colors in inactive pane doesn't work. The UI allows you to do this, but the changes do not take effect.

Re: 945 (but not a recent regression): FC modifies clipboard when it closes
I performed some additional investigation into this issue, and I'm thinking it could possibly be a CopyQ issue. As such, I'm interested in hearing if anyone can reproduce this issue with or without CopyQ, and with or without other clipboard managers.

945 (but not a recent regression): FC modifies clipboard when it closes
As I can't reliably reproduce this issue, this isn't going to be the best bug report, but I hope it is more useful than not reporting the issue at all.

Re: For which archive types are the FreeCommander's internal archiver plugins known to be reliable?
Is there any reason to use fcZip when fc7Zip is available?
fc7Zip is only in the 64 bit version

Re: For which archive types are the FreeCommander's internal archiver plugins known to be reliable?
fcZip can only process archive files that are compatible with the ZIP format. These files can have various extensions, e.g. zip, jar, war, ear, epub, docx, xlsx and many others.
fc7Zip can handle multiple formats. The most common formats for extraction are: 7z, ZIP, RAR, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR and ISO ...
