Free Commander Quick View in Vista
displays all pictures stretched and distorted to fill the window
the same picture displays fine in Window viewer.
Something I have not setup properly?

Turn off "Fit image to window" - with right click on the caption of the quick view panel you can change the options.

No, I think it's another option, try "Load images in quality mode".
