When defining Thumbnails on action tool bars, I used the internal popup menu $FcPopup_Thumbnails，and checked show drop down arrow only, but it failed to show drop down arrow only. This works in XE2019

It was fixed in the release 812.

I have v812 and it is fixed for me.
I have one button for thumbnail view and on the right side of this another with checked "show drop down arrow only".
So in my toolbar there are the two buttons. One for viewing thumbnails and the other (arrow down) for thumbnail size.

Why did you set it up as two buttons? I have what appears to be the same functionality using just one Thumbnails button, with $Fc_Popup_Thumbnails specified for it's popup menu (which allows me to change the thumbnail size).

I wonder if it's working for some buttons and not others.

You're right, thank you.
My first Button had no internal popup menu specified, so it had only the "switch view to thumbnails".
The second had only the function "select thumbnail size".

I'm changing a button of the toolbar not more than once a year, so all was working well and I had no reason to think about it.

BTW, your location indicator inspired me to take a look at photographs of Gifhorn. What a beautiful place!
