To reproduce add one of these characters (possible some more) to mp3 tag field Genre, whole Genre is not shown in status bar in this case. With the same mp3 file.
BTW It works good even with this characters in Column profiles!

FC 829 64-bit donor, Windows 10 2004 64-bit.

I can't get FC to show genre nor channels

Can't confirm the problem with "channels", is it with any mp3? Try some older files.

"Genre" in status bar is used from ID3v1 tag, so if it's missing, "genre" from ID3v2 tag can't be shown now.

All my mp3s use ID3v2. ID3v1 has character limit and can't store enough of the metadata for my taste.

I would request, that FC support ID3v2.

Notes:

If you save the ID3tag v2, it should save also v1 copy, in Mp3Tag for example, the problem is now with the Genre, which contain multiple items and dividers, in this case no item is copied.

In Column profiles v2 should be supported, I'm not sure, since some items are the same, but Genre is from v2.
