Should Synchronize Directories Default Filter Include Be *.*

#1 Post by Bearded Kirklander » 03.09.2008, 18:41

I noticed that in beta 375, there is no visible default in the FILTER INCLUDE entry. The field is blank.

Should it be showing a default of *.* instead of being left blank?

This function does use *.* by default, is that correct?

I was thinking that if so, it would be good to actually show that *.* in the INCLUDE box by default.

I hope that makes sense. I also hope that I'm not overlooking something and this request is not valid. If so, I'd appreciate your understanding if I did miss that. If not, then hey, life is good. :)

Thank you.

So it does default to *.* then.

Would you be so kind to place the actual text "*.*" into that field by default so all your dedicated users can see what the default actually is when they begin to use the feature?

I use FC all the time and even I had to look around to figure it out. I think that actually showing a default value makes it less confusing. Users will be able to see right away what the default is, and I think that will also save some time, especially if they have selected the With Subfolders option.

Thank you much,

BK
