I have been using this great software for a couple of years. The new rename feature in 2008.06b requires a lot of moving my mouse around. It is so cumbersome that I now open up Window Explorer to do this. In windows explorer all I have to do, is put my cursor exactly where I want to introduce the change to the name and press moderately slowly 3 times in the same place. This is an easy and quick Windows 3 click way. The new FC way is similar to windows right click way. In FC it requires me to right click and go down a menu to select the rename option. Then move the mouse into a new pop up and then change the file over there on the screen. I have to then move my cursor a long distance to go back to the panel for the next file to rename,

Suggestion Either go back to the windows 3 click way or just allow ithat way unless someone wants to right click. This is what the previous version 6 did.

The windows 3 click way in this case is quick and easy and I will be using it from now on.

What's about the 2-Click-way of FreeCommander?

Click on the file, click once again, so that the filename is marked and change the name.

What about one-click way? F2, or just press the toolbar rename button.

You need to disable "use dialog window for rename" (Extras/Settings/Confirnations) for 2-click to work.

With the rename dialog enabled you can do 3 slow clicks for the dialog to open.

Thank You FrizzleFry
