When I drag and drop a file or URL from outside of FCE to FCE and change the FCE tab with CTRL+TAB while still hovering, the source is dropped into the tab that was showing when the FCE window became active. I.e. the drop target seems to be determined when the FCE window becomes active and not when the drop is released.

FreeCommander XE 2022 Build 860 64-bit donor - happy to install latest but I checked the release notes for related changes since then
Win 10 Enterprise Version 10.0.19043

This is low priority, just annoying.

BTW - drag&drop using this approach within FCE from one tab to another is not possible as CTRL+TAB is not working.

Workaround: (in both scenarioes) directly drop to the tab title of the non-active tab. However, this only works if you don't have too many tabs open.

I'm using FCE in a layout with directory tree on the left and one content window with many tabs on the right (resembling Windows File Explorer, just this doesn't offer tabs)

I make this the other way.
Make the wanted folder the current one in FC.
Drag and drop into the FC icon on tha task bar.
You have to wait for the FC window to open before drop.
