949 - images viewer behavior

#1 Post by tfricot » 04.06.2026, 16:47

Recently updated to version 949.
Fact:
- I am using XNViewMP as pictures viewer for a long time.
- never had this problem before with older Freecommander version.

So my problem, in Freecommander:

BEFORE updating to 949, I doubled click on a .JPG file (or any pictures files), XNViewMP opened and the picture was displayed in it. Right behaviour
BUT since update when I double-click on a picture, now the file is opened and display to Windows PAINT NO MORE in XNViewMP.
AND if use Windows Explorer as filemanager, my pictures are well opened in XNViewMP. So the problem is not file assocation

Any suggestions are really welcomed.

thank you very much in advance,

Thierry

BEFORE updating to 949
Was your last used release 948?

What is your Windows version?
What is your default command (bold font) in the context menu of the jpg file in FreeCommander and in Windows Explorer?
What happens if you in FreeCommander from context menu of the jpg file "Open" performs?

Thanks Marek for your answer.

- Indeed, I used v948 before updating to 949;

- Windows is v10 Pro 22H2 Build version 19045.7291 (French version);

- Default command is "Modifier" aka "Modify" of JPG file in Freecommander and Windows Explorer;

- Using "open" from context menu, opens JPG file in XNViewMP.

Thierry
