Not possible to open UNC paths

Hello all,
It is not possible to open an UNC path by favorite or "Folder/Goto folder..." if the ressource is password protected.
The only way to change to such a folder is to edit the location by right-click on the folder title. Then the login dialog is shown and the content of the folder is displayed.
After a successfull login it is possible to access the UNC path by all methods (e.g. favorites).
Is this a known problem?
Are there any other solutions to keep UNC paths as favorites for a quick access?
I'm using the Freecommander Portable version 2008.06c on Windows XP Professional SP2
