Auto Refresh when removable drive is added or removed.

I have Free Commander desk top running on 2 Win2000Pro Workstations & the Portable version running on a couple of flash drives. One machine will refresh when a removable drive is added or removed while the other will not. Settings appear the same in both. I have tried changing the Extras/Settings/General/Auto Refresh on drive check boxes for both checked and not checked with shut downs in between for good measure. No change as the only change is when a file is changed. It either refreshes and shows up or does not depending upon the setting. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
