File copy dialog hangs after a while

Copying a large file (e.g 10GB) seems to start OK, but after a while the file copy dialog hangs and it does not update any more.
Copying from one drive to another.
Tried this on two computers and the result is the same.
I thought I was going to throw out xplorer2 but
maybe not yet.
Running FreeCommander 2009.02, Windows Vista SP1 32bit.
