Zip File Drag & Drop

I've been unable to accomplish drag & drop extraction of files from ZIP files in Vista 32.

The ZIP file appears in the tree pane as a folder and the zipped files are shown, but I'd like to be able to drag the zipped files to other folders for extraction.

Is there a setting that allows this?

(I've used Powerdesk for years, but it has not been updated to work well with Vista OS. I really miss this functionality.)

Thanks for helping an inexperienced user of FC.

With the forum-search you can get some information e.g. like this:

Ralf:

Thanks for taking the time to reply, but, unless I'm mistaken, your search link only revealed others requesting the same drag & drop functionality of which I inquired.

I was hoping that functionality was in FC, but that I had missed how to access it.

In my search to find a replacement for Powerdesk for file operations, I have discovered a few programs that have this functionality, but that lack other features.

If no one can reveal that this feature is indeed in the current version of FC, does anyone know if it will be a feature of the next version?

Thanks,

as you expected, this feature is not implemented yet. Maybe in next version, but not in the near future.

But you can open the archive, highligh the requested files and use "File" >>> "Unpack" or the toolbarbutton or a keybord-shortcut (in original ALT & F6, but you can change it) instead of drag & drop.
So there are 3 altenatives for drag and drop.
I also missed this feature for a few weeks when I defected from PowerDesk to FreeCommander 5 years ago, but now my keybord-shortcut (ALT & E = Entpacken in german) is only thing I need.

You also can subscribe this feature request http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopi ... t=zip+drag
