Expanding the folder tree

Hello @ all,

I'm just starting with FreeCommander and I'm looking for a function that I use very often, namely expanding the folder tree with one keypress (the * in Win Explorer).

Searched the Help, FAQ, Menus, shortcuts and this forum, no answer.

Have I overlooked something?

Regards,
tfor

Try right-arrow (expand) and left-arrow (collapse).

The right arrow only expands one level, not the whole tree.
Expanding the whole tree is what I need.

SHIFT + Num* (use the number-pad asterisk)

this will fully expand the tree under the currently selected folder.

If you happen to have C:\ drive selected, you better have a really, really, really fast computer, or else do it while you take a coffee break. It takes a long time to expand for several thousand sub-sub-sub-folders.

Thanks a lot, that shortcut does the job.

I browsed through the shortcut list again to see if I overlooked it in the first place but it does not seem to be on the list.

Anyway, it's great that it's already implemented and ready to use.

It's actually a standard Windows hotkey, like Ctrl+ C to copy, Ctrl+V to paste.
Just not very well known. I wish it was a command in FC, then we could map our own key combinations.

FC utilizes a lot of Windows hotkeys, but some others have been converted to launch unique FC commands.
