For all situations use also these options:

- select items: enable checkboxes # 1,2,3,4,5,7 (so all except "select with right mouse button") and use 0 for hover time
- enable thumb view
- use folders and subfolders with image files only

- go to item in the middle, e.g. item 5
- press shift+end to select the items 5 - last
= only the last item is selected

#2
- go to item in the middle, e.g. item 5
- press shift+home to select the items 1 - 5
= ALL items are selected instead

#3
- maximize FC
- in the folder with 5 subfolders and 10 files enter the 3rd folder
- go up (back)
- folder #3 is selected
- press shift+end to select the items 3 - 15
= items 2 - 15 are selected instead

This is strange, perhaps it might be related with this bug:

Windows Vista 32 bit SP2.

#1, #2 - fixed for the relase 583.
#3 - works OK for me (may be fixed with other bugs).
