This option is very useful, but extension is invisible, if activated, so could you always show extension, please?

E.g.:

597:

Code: Select all

[qwertyuiopasdfghjklz...]
598 ? :

Code: Select all

[qwertyuiopasdfgh....txt]
Thanks.

Still not changed in 610. :( Without extension this option is unusable.

The shorted text is from Windows not from me. I think, I could try to change the text but the view will be a bit slower (probably) - I need many calculations for each text. As workaround you can add the extension column.

In the list view? How?

Perhaps you could try to change it, if it's not too complicated, I'd like to have more options for list view, already suggested here.

BTW - since the extension is not displayed sometimes, then it might be considered as a bug - even in Windows Explorer.

Perhaps you could add the new view - combination of details and list view, for example:

[filename1234...exe | 2.55 MB ]

or...

[filename1234...mp3 | 320kbps ]

or...

[filename1234...jpg | 2012-12-05 11-35-42 ]

...So use different option for different extensions, mp3 bitrate for mp3, EXIF date for JPG, size for others.

I dont know wether its worth the efforts - my personal opinion is that we need other things more desperate from the one-person-project Marek :D

Some reasons for me:
- the calculation will need more time and performance
- you can see the extensions on most of the files if the width is set properly
- for the rest of the files you can see the extensions by the tooltip details or you can imagine them by the special icon for the file type or (if set) by the designated file name text colour
- there are not only the 3 digit but also long or very long extensions - what will you make then? Show them? Abbreviate them? Whats with the shortened file name? Perhaps its unreadable afterwards...
- if you really need special details why not directly use the details view? It is specially designed for this requirements and allows to show all the things you mentioned like bit rate etc.
