When using single click to open folders and files, this feature would be very useful and perhaps also not hard to implement:

- when single clicking the name, open/run the item
- when single clicking the extension, only focus the item
- when single clicking the file icon, select/deselect item (as option).

EDIT:

Option for middle mouse button click within the file list:

- open folder in a new tab (current behavior)
- focus the item
- select/deselect the item (alternative to right button select option)

Perhaps also more options, like: view, quick view, edit, open (to simulate double-click if single click option is disabled).

Thanks, I'm thinking of easy way to implement missing features, like option to focus the item when using single click option - currently there is no way to do it, only the right click and Escape.

Another missing feature is selecting multiple items using mouse, when right click is used for context menu, here is the solution / idea:

When single clicking the file icon, select/deselect item (as option).

In the final version (build 650), it's still impossible to focus the item with mouse if single click to open items option is enabled, so this request is still actual....

It's very useful 3 in 1 feature.

I still miss this feature. Without it, the single click to open items is incomplete, single it's impossible to focus the item (I'm using the right click and Escape as workaround, but it's not good).

I'll merge this idea with another one, middle click option. Currently when clicking the middle mouse button on folder, it's opened in a new tab, if middle clicking the file, nothing happens, so I suggest to add this option for middle mouse button click:

- Open folder in a new tab (current behavior)
- focus the item
- select/deselect the item (alternative to right button select option)
