It appears I have accidentally set something and the Freecommander application wnidow is always on the TOP, it's confusing and annoying. How to disable this ? thanks in advance for a quick response.

I can't find any such option in FC, are you sure it's not another tool?

As workaround, try the HotkeyP, small free tool, you can toggle always on top for any window easily.
