Hidden and system items have the same icons as others, the icons are not semi-transparent as in older versions.

I'm not using too much hidden files or folders, so I don't remember exactly how they looked before, but their icons definitely have a lighter color in 654 (default settings + show hidden files) in my case.

Yes, in NC-Mode there is no difference.

Got it! It's the option "Use Windows colors", disable it (and refresh view) to reproduce.
