I request that an option be added to save different column widths for horizontal and vertical panel views.

Reason:
I normally work with two panels split vertically, however when file names are too long to read with half a screen, I change to horizontal split so that the panels span the entire screen width. The column widths for the filename in the vertical split is used in the horizontal split so I have to expand the filename column (or use the auto resize command) so that I can see the full filename. Then when I revert back to vertical split I must again resize the columns to suite half a screen again.

You can use Column profiles in the meantime.

Good idea Joby! I already use column profiles but didn't think to create separate ones for horizontal and vertical.
