Huge amount of memory used when opening large files with F3

Hi Marek,

I tried to open a big xml file (~35Mb) using F3. Freecommander did not respond for a long while, during this the CPU was on 100% and the free memory was disappearing at a fast pace.

I made a screenshot:

It went even higher but I killed the task.

Version: 2008.6.0.317, Windows XP Pro, SP3 v.3264

Have you installed some plugins in viewer? If yes, try to deactivate the plugins first. If no, can you send me such file?

No, I installed only Freecommander, nothing else.

Freecommander actually shows the file after about 2 minutes, but the memory allocation is over 1.6 Gb. It gets freed up after the window is closed.

About the file, I contact you personally.

I use Internet Explorer function for showing XML files. If you try to show the file with IE the memory allocation is the same. The only problem I have found is if you try to close the viewer and the file was not fully loaded. I have fixed the bug for the next beta. Now you can define the .xml extension in the field "as Text" (Display at startup options) and you can see the file as text.

Great, thank you :)
Not that I do this very often, but still better to have it fixed.
