I have noticed that for a long time (I have version 669, 32bit at the moment) that when I go the the Desktop in FC, it does not display all the shortcuts that are on the Desktop. I can see more icons in explorer than in FC.

As far as I can tell, the problem is only with shortcut files

I recently installed a program called MarkdownPad 2.
The filename is The target location from the shortcut file is: The file shows in Windows Explorer but not in FC.

There are several other shortcut files that also do not display.
Refreshing has no effect either.
And the non-displaying of the icons is persistent over restarts. I've had this problem in FC for years, actually.

But there are a few shortcuts that do show up in FC, and they are .lnk files too. But it seems the the problem stems mostly from shortcuts created by application setup installers.

Windows or windows explorer is showing combinations of foldercontents.
E.g. in startmenu or desktop.

On desktop it shows the files of:
C:\Users\Public\Desktop and
C:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop

In startmenu the files of
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

I've saved this locations in FC-favorites to go there quickly (but except of the startmenu-folders I've never user them).

When I go to then I see the missing icons.

I wonder if it is possible to make the Desktop function in FC load the content of both places by default, or maybe this could be an option?
