When i am viewing the desktop through FC and have "show extensions" in Windows disabled, FC will also NO show extensions (even when set in FC to show extensions) for the desktop.
But whats even more heavy is, that when I then try to rename eg. a test.txt to test2.txt I cannot rename, as it will omit the extension.

It's absolutely normal behavior for ALL file managers. Total Commander behaves exactly the same and it's impossible to fix (this is a misfeature of Windows).

This is Not true.
FC overrides the system settings and does it in all other folders except Desktop.
