Any attempt to bring up the DOS Box Fails: Ctl-D, Tools>DOS box, or a Toolbar Button

This happens for FCXE-687 32-bit and 64-bit Portable versions

The DOS Box works correctly in 685 and 686 (and other earlier versions)


System: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1

Workaround: open your freecommander.ini file and change this line to You can define your favorite console program if you want.

That workaround solved the issue!

Thank you so much. The next question is, why did this happen?

I also noticed that the following works as well:

DosCommandBoxSpec=%comspec%

This sets the system defined command processor (which is of course cmd.exe)

It might be a bug, it might be some internal change, Marek should know.

It could be related to new implementation in 687: DOS-Prompt specification - now %ActivDir% variable is enabled

Strange: The menu entry and the toolbar button don't work, but the hotkey still works.

For me in FC XE 687 under Windows XP SP3 even hotkey Ctrl-D doesn't work.
