Can F/C help detect duplicates?

In the last couple of years I have had both PC failures as well as HDD failures. As a consequence I have some backups of a file & many duplicates which are scattered over a few external drives. In some instances the file is alone & in other instances the files are in a tree structure. I was wondering if I can use F/C to clean up this mess?

I was thinking along the lines of say just copying a file of JPEGs or videos & pasting them onto another drive & have the program tell me that that some files are duplicated & that they will be ignored thus allowing only non duplicated files to be moved.

Can F?C do this sort of thing or do I have to look elsewhere?

i would suggest the duplicate files tool in CCleaner.

I use ccleaner for temp file cleanup, the duplicate file finder tool is an added bonus.

your scattered drives would all have to be accessible (ie, through a network setup, etc)
