591 - Could/can not drag a file from FrCXE ...

This week I discovered the (now defunct) XP File Replacer
(which replaces XP protected system files while XP is running ...)
Anyway, the utility uses a DOSbox-like "GUI" onto which the user is to drag the files.
I discovered that I could/can not drag a file from FrCXE.

I don't know if this is a bug or due to some unknown setting ...

Three diagnostic questions:
- Can you successfully drag a file from Windows Explorer to XP File Replacer?
- Can you successfully drag a file from FC-XE to other places such as the desktop or other dialogs?
- Is the failure to drag from FC-XE to XP File Replacer specific to the left or right panel, or the same from either panel?

I presume you are running this on Windows XP.

As for settings in FC-XE, I'm not aware of any that would cause this problem.

Have you tried FrCXE file dragging yourself?
I can drag files from ANYWHERE except from FrCXE - regardless of which panel ...
to ANYWHERE - including FrCXE ...

apparently in XE another drag & drop component has been implemented (http://melander.dk/delphi/dragdrop/)
some application will no longer work, search this forum and you'll find more examples.
you may contact the author and report this or stick to FC2009 .

Good question. Yes, I was able to drag files from FC-XE to the Windows desktop, to Windows Explorer, and to several applications which can function as drop targets. (FC-XE 597, Win7-64.)

So apparently it is a generalized problem, not limited specifically to XP File Replacer as the target.

... so I seem to have found the/a (re-)solution and
can now drag files from FrCXE ...
not sure exactly why the replies were so off the mark ...
I can only guess ... maybe I should start a new thread to do that ...
