Shift+F5 functionality

#1 Post by Ars » 23.09.2008, 13:20

It is often needed to copy a file to the same directory, only changing its name. A lot of file managers allow to do this via Shift+F5 key combination. But in FC, file just silently being copied to another panel  when it is not expected at all.

This is very confusing. It would be good to have such dialog as F2 provides, but for copy functionality.

F5 brings up the copy dialog... you can switch F5 and Shift-F5 in Extras/Settings/Confirmations...

Yes, but I'm taliking about the 3rd option.
Currently there are only "Normal copy" (with dialog) and "Silent copy", but it would be very nice to have 3rd one - "Copy to the same directory", with bringing up rename dialog.

You can use Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V and then F2 to rename, as workaround.

That's a backdoor, but I would like to see normal option to do this ;)
