Tighten thumbnail spacing and size?

Is there an option to tighten thumbnail spacing to a specified amount? I would like to be able to fit as many thumbnails on screen as possible. Also, can we specify thumbnail size?

Settings>View>Thumbnails ---> image size, spacing
