Hello,
I was hoping to use FreeCommander to sort a huge collection of folders and I was looking for a way to have a folder highlighted in one Panel (without actually navigating into the folder) and have the Quick View Panel or something similar show the contents of the folder as Thumbnails. Currently, when a folder is selected, the Quick View Panel does have a "Content" section but afaik it only shows the names of the files as text and I couldn't find any setting to change that to show thumbnails instead.
I tried searching the faq and threads but didn't find anything relevant. Thank you for the help.
Can Quick View Panel show the contents of a Folder as Thumbnails?
Re: Can Quick View Panel show the contents of a Folder as Thumbnails?
1. In the right panel change view to thumbnails
2. In the left panel highlight some folder and use "Folder->Open focused/selected->Open folder in other panel"
Of course you can define a shortcut for "Folder->Open focused/selected->Open folder in other panel" and then simply after highlighting some folder use the shortcut.

Re: Can Quick View Panel show the contents of a Folder as Thumbnails?
Thank you for your response but needing a shortcut defeats the purpose of trying to avoid navigating into the folder. I should have been clearer that I really wanted something akin to the Quick View in that there's no additional clicking or need for a shortcut. Just the folder is highlighted and the contents are displayed as thumbnails, same as how currently the Quick View will show you an image just by having the file highlighted.
I also didn't realize at the time that we were limited to only 2 main panels or I would have been even clearer that the intended goal was to have One Panel be the location I was sorting into, the second Panel being the location of the folders I was sorting and the third Panel/Quick View allowing my to quickly see the contents of the folder so using both panels for viewing won't help.
Up till this point I was actually using another program (Irfanview's thumbnail mode) to handle just the viewing behavior and something else to handle sorting but switching back and forth between two programs has it's own set of headaches. I was hoping there was a way to do the whole thing within a single program but even if there isn't FreeCommander is still an amazing program and a step up from the previous program I was using to handle the sorting.
