XP-HE SP3
Everyday after turning on the computer I can't start FreeCommander. Now I have the installer on the desktop and install the program again everyday - then it works fine even after computer's reboot, but next day the situation repeats itself.
"Auto Deinstalation" ?
Assuming Marek's response did not resolve your issue:
When you mean "unavailable" do you mean the icon is ghosted?
If this is the case then the user ID you are installing it under has greater rights than the user ID under which you are using it under.
When installing FC, the installer creates the desktop shortcut on the local desktop. if you copy it to the "All Users" desktop then the shortcut file itself still has the original rights applied to it. For users without the original rights the icon will appear "normal" until it os double clicked at which time it will become ghosted (unavailable).
To test if this is your problem, under the user ID you are "using" FC under, from the run command, execute %systemdrive%\program files\freecommander\freecommander.exe. If this works then there is definitely an issue with the shortcut rights.
Let me know if there is a rights problem and I will post how to fix it as although the process is quite simple to instructions are quite lengthy.
