Hi everyone,
I am using FC 2008-06c on a German Vista 64 bit, SP1.
I noticed that my two most commonly tools do not show up in the context menu: PGP Desktop (9.9, 64-bit version) and WinZIP (32 bit version).
This issue did not exist with the same FC version on an XP SP 3 system but can be reproduced on another Vista 64 SP1 system.
Any hints are appreciated.
Kind regards,
Stephan

RE: Incomplete Vista Context Menus
If may be that FC (32 bit) will not show the Context Menu of a 64 bit program, but Vista and it looks like Win7 as well, are seriously buggy with handling the Context Menu items, or Shell Menus.
I recently moved to Vista 64 SP2, and noticed unavailable items on FC Context Menu, but after investigating for many hours, I see that there are hundreds of cries to solve Vista Context Menu items missing, all from the focus on the individual applications. Lengthy and involved Registry hacks are figured out, re-installing things, etc. But no one, microsoft especially, seems to focus on the Missing Context Menu Items as a flaw in Vista's handling of Shell Menu items.
I did run across one idea that Vista is hiding items at random if the context lists get too long.
I have tons of programs all with special Context Menu settings. Vista explorer is totally inconsistent with displaying These items. The programs I have to enable/disable Context menu items all show different lists. Go figure. The one most thorough (ShellMenuView) shows a comprehensive list, but Vista is seriously flawed with listing Context Menu items.
I know this is FC forum, but if anyone has any ideas, please advise. This issue is way bigger than one program.
