Wildcard symbols in quick search

My request is simple...
I want to use wildcard symbols (* &) in quick search like in tc ...

The option in settings (search window) "add wildcards to filename" seems to fail if you use wildcards "*" or "?".
So you have to add a "*" at the end when using wildcards.

TestA01.jpg
TestA02.jpg
TestA03.jpg
TestB01.jpg
TestB02.jpg
TestB03.jpg
TestCC01.jpg
TestCC02.jpg
TestCC03.jpg

test?C* finds:
TestCC01.jpg
TestCC02.jpg
TestCC03.jpg

while
test?C finds nothing


test?0* finds:
TestA01.jpg
TestA02.jpg
TestA03.jpg
TestB01.jpg
TestB02.jpg
TestB03.jpg

while
test?0 finds nothing

But i need wildcards in Quick Search because this option is available only for Quick Filtring...
When i type in active panel on the bottom shows box with search string so i can't put there wildcards like "*" ... for qucik filtring all works fine ...

The above declaration also works in Quick Filter.

test?C* in the Quick Filter box finds:
TestCC01.jpg
TestCC02.jpg
TestCC03.jpg
