Can't open documents

#1 Post by ianmcarey » 17.12.2008, 23:41

Hi, I installed FC last week (Win2000 SP4), and it worked fine until yesterday, when I lost the ability to open documents in a folder by double-clicking. Instead, the window flickers briefly and reloads. I can only open the documents by right-clicking and selecting "open" or dragging and dropping into the application window.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling FC, didn't help. I also tried changing to "open files with single click" and got the same result.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ian

Clarification: it seems to be happening with files associated with Adobe Illustrator--.eps, .ai, etc. Other types of files seem to work.

Hi ianmcarey

Are you able to open the same documents by double clicking them in Explorer?

If you are using NC mode or Hot Track then please turn them off.

What version of FC are you using?

I'm using 2008.06c. NC and HotTrack are unchecked.

Did you try "clean install", or run FC using these parameters?
